Welcome

Welcome to KCAC's Tumbling and Specialty Class Page.

Below you will find all of the classes offered during our current session.

 Fall/Winter Session Classes:

Starts October 21, 2024 and runs through December 20, 2024

STUNTS / TUMBLING CLASSES

We offer classes to help athletes improve their performance in a variety of skills at any level.

 STUNTS/JUMPS

Flyer Training - Stretch and strengthen with the best of the best! 15 minutes of stretching, 10 minutes of functional and stability training, and 5 minutes of body positions. This class is designed to improve flexibility and teach your athlete to "lock in" and hold body positions to improve their ability to hit stunts and fly with ease!  (MANDATORY CLASS - For ALL current team flyers)

Flight School - Fly on experienced base groups to work flying technique. This class will also work flyer counts and motions, along with flexibility (Stunt Group Work)

Jumps Training - Learn, improve and master Jump Skills. Work on height, approach, and flexibility.

Beginning Tumbling to Walkovers - building the foundations of tumbling including handstands, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, roundoff, front limber, bridges, backbends and backbend kickover.

Working Walkovers Class - Skills and Drills to master both a forward and backward walkover.

(Must Have: Cartwheels and Roundoff)

Perfecting Cartwheels/Beginning Walkovers - building the foundations of tumbling and perfecting handstands, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, roundoff, bridges, and beginning front and back walkovers

Beginner athletes 

Perfecting Walkovers/ Valdez Class - Skills and Drills to perfect and master both a forward and backward walkover with straight legs and form, plus learn and perfect the Valdez and additional skills to follow creating sequenced tumbling skills.

(prerequisite: Working Walkovers)

Beginning Handsprings This  class will be working on building from the foundations of tumbling  including front and back walkovers and beginning front and back handsprings.

(prerequisite: Roundoff Rebound, and Bridge Kickover without a spot)

Back Handsprings This  class will be focusing on skills and drills to master a performance ready back handspring with proper blocking and bounding skill.

(MUST HAVE: Roundoff Rebound, and Mastered Back Walkover)

 Multiple Handsprings - Skills and Drills to master both the Front and Back Handspring and prepare for multiples.

(MUST HAVE: Roundoff Rebound, Mastered Standing Back Handspring)

Multiple Handsprings and Beginning Tucks - Skills and Drills to master Multiple Back Handspring, up to 5 in a row - gaining speed, plus Front and Back Tucks.

(prerequisite: Back Walkover, Roundoff 2 Back Handsprings, Front Handspring, Standing Back Handspring without a spot.)

intermediate/ADVANCED athletes

Tucks TrainingThis class will focus on drills for learning a back tuck. The goal for the class is to master a running back tuck. 

(MUST HAVE strong roundoff back handspring rebound and standing 5 multiple back handsprings)

Layouts & Standing Tucks- Skills and Drills to master Standing Tucks and Layouts.

(MUST HAVE: Strong Roundoff Back Handspring Back Tuck on the floor without a spot)

Advanced athletes

Fulls - Skills and Drills to master twisting, specialty to layout and beginning twisting to working fulls

(prerequisite: Roundoff Back Handsprings layout, jumps to tuck)

Beginning Twisting/Working Fulls- Skills and Drills to master Layouts and prepare for twisting and perfect mastering full rotations. (MUST HAVE: specialty to layout, standing multiple BHS to layout & standing tuck)

Fulls and Doubles- Skills and Drills to master both standing and running Full Twisting Rotations, .

(MUST HAVE: Roundoff Back Handspring to Full as well as jumps to tuck)

SPEcIALTY CLASSES

Front Tumbling - This is a class focuses on every variation of front tumbling from front handsprings, dive rolls, punch front tucks, front layouts and forward twisting. (: performance ready front walkover without a spot.)

Dance Acro - Work  your dance/acro skills. This class will focus on aerial cartwheel, front aerial, handspring step outs, layout step outs & combinations.

High School Middle School Tumbling - This Specialty Tumbling Class is for Middle School  & High School Only athletes who would like to learn or master a back handspring and/or back handspring series. We will condition and work basic tumbling skills up to series back handsprings and round-off series back handspring. If you are new to tumbling this class will work all of the skills leading to BHS as well.

PRESCHOOL TUMBLING CLASSES 

Liability Waiver: Want to try a class? Register for liability waiver here. This waiver does not register for a class, it is simply a liability waiver to participate in a drop in.
